It’s very difficult to find a good day cream for oily skin. I am still to find the perfect one. I won this The Body Shop Drops Of Light Brightening Day Cream in a giveaway from The body shop and I am almost halfway through it. Let me let you about my experience with this cream.

Instantly, skin texture feels smoother, softer and re-plumped with moisture

HOW TO USE:-
According to the website “Massage onto face and neck every morning after applying your serum.”
My Take On The Body Shop Drops Of Light Brightening Day Cream:-
The product comes in a white glass tub packaging with a screw cap and a protective lid. The rose gold detailing on the front looks very classy. It is bulky and heavy so I wouldn’t say that it is a very travel-friendly packaging. But I did travel with it and had no problems.
It has a very mild floral smell and I really like it. It does get transferred onto your skin but stays for a very short time.
COLOUR AND CONSISTENCY:-
Its white in colour and the consistency is quite runny. I mean it is the thinnest face cream I have ever used. It doesn’t feel very greasy and also gets absorbed very easily.
Price And SHELF LIFE:-
It was ₹ 2050 but now its dropped to ₹ 1845 for 50 ml due to GST. The shelf life is 2 years.
You can get this from The body shop store. Online you can get this from
MY EXPERIENCE with The Body Shop Drops Of Light Brightening Day Cream:-
If you have read my previous post you would know I was very disappointed with the face wash from this range. This cream was no different. I saw some really great reviews for this product but the results were very disappointing. Maybe I expected too much.
Anyways let’s get to the point. As I use this product it does get absorbed very easily and there no greasiness on my face (For about 3 hours). After a while, my face starts getting oily but that’s just my skin. So no negative points there. Immediately after using it my skin feels moisturized and very smooth. Its almost like I have an extra layer on my face.
But they claim that with regular use it will lighten the dark spots. Infect this whole range revolves around this promise but I saw no improvement in my dark spots. Also, they claim that it will make your skin brighter. Well NO, it didn’t. Maybe a very minute difference but not something I would pay almost 2000 bucks for. Also, it didn’t make my skin tone even as well.
Also when I was using this I got a lot of acne. I only get a few (Like 1 or 2) of them during my periods or travelling. But while using this got like 5-6 acnes and also very painful once. I can say I felt like a teenager again.
So it failed in most of the claims made by the brand and Gave me acnes. I would say if you have oily maybe don’t buy it.
- Made my skin soft
- No lightning of dark spots
- There was no brightening effect
- No even tone
- Gave me acne
